Our Process

Once you become a client of Head and Heart Estate Planning, we help you move through the Estate Planning process in a way that achieves both:

  • Efficiency: so that we can put the right plan in place as quickly as possible and remove the risks of it not being done ; and

  • Thoughtfulness: so that the right strategies (both legal and non-legal, head and heart) are considered and put in place for your loved ones.

We have created this handy flowchart that sets out Our Process, with all of the links you’ll need to make appointments with me along the way.

First meeting

We have created this handy First Meeting Checklist to help you get the most out of your first meeting with us, or any Estate Planning lawyer.

The Checklist covers eight of the most common questions your lawyer will ask you. Being able to answer these questions in that meeting (or ahead of time) will help your lawyer tailor and recommend the best strategies for your circumstances.

Insurances

For many of my clients adequate insurance is an important ingredient in providing a “loving and secure” future for your children, if the worst were to happen to you or your partner.

Use this Insurances Checklist to assess whether your current insurances are aligned with the future you’d like for your loved ones if you or your partner were to become unable to work, or pass away.

Divorce

There is a lot of risk for individuals in the period between separating from their spouse, to the date of divorce (and beyond) who don’t update their Estate Planning to reflect their new circumstances. This downloadable guide shares the best possible timeline, and the risks to help you understand for yourself that updating your documents is a non-negotiable.
